Bronwyn Rennex – Bio

Bronwyn Rennex takes ordinary elements from the everyday and transforms them into extraordinary images that are often strange, poetic and comical. She engages diverse methods of image-making, including the cyanotype, one of the oldest photographic techniques, to create strong yet fragile images that sensitively converge chance and intuition.

Bronwyn Rennex has been exhibiting since 1991. She has presented work in numerous solo and group exhibitions, including in the Art Gallery of New South Wales, the Centre for Contemporary Photography, VIC, the Australian Centre for Photography, and Melbourne Art Fair. Among other publications, her work features in LOOK: Contemporary Australian Photography since 1980 (2011), and was highlighted in Australian Art Collector magazine’s feature Smart Art (2001).
