Daniel Connell – Bio
Daniel Connell is a video and installation artist. His current practice looks at the physical impact of external value systems and their effect on an individual’s thinking and being. In particular, his recent works engage with a conflict in value systems through instances of obsolescence, whether physical or psychological, where an individual’s immediate sense of value has become subordinate to an automated external representation of value and exchange. A conceptual approach to the issues surrounding this relationship has resulted in the creation of installation and video works where theoretical intentions become secondary to the effects that the physical qualities of the works have on the participant.
